Rose has a book!

Rose Hendershot has published a book of her images from the Gerald Ford Funeral.
This is a great accomplishment and we want to congratulate you!
Gerald Ford Comes Home is a 72-page book containing 299 photos taken January 2 and 3, 2007 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rose Hendershot of Photographic Memory in Hastings, Michigan along with husband Leo and daughter Tammy Smith took nearly 1300 photos during the events surrounding the funeral of former President Gerald R. Ford. Gerald Ford Comes Home was entered in the Michigan State Fair where it earned a first place ribbon and Best of Show in August 2007.

Rose designed the book to show the events of the funeral in photojournalistic style for all those who had an interest in Gerald Ford. “Our state was privileged to have Mr. Ford as President and the funeral ceremonies did an excellent job of honoring him and his family” says Rose Hendershot.

Featured in the book are many of our Hastings Cub Scouts from Pack 3175 and Boy Scouts from Troop 175 and their escorts on the day President Ford was buried. The Cub Scouts will not soon forget that Mrs. Ford, when passing in the motorcade to the church, mouthed the words “I love you” to the boys standing at salute in her honor. Also portrayed in the book is military personnel from all branches of the service in dress uniform to pay tribute and to perform duties necessary for security and honor. Even if Michigan someday has another President, there will never be another President Gerald R Ford.
